Missouri State will have a new conference foe with Belmont joining the Missouri Valley Conference next season, the private school located in Nashville announced Tuesday morning.
Belmont is leaving the Ohio Valley Conference amid the recent conference realignment shift that was sparked when Oklahoma and Texas announced their move from the Big 12 to the SEC.
The domino effect has greatly impacted the Ohio Valley — with Austin Peay, Eastern Kentucky and Jacksonville State all previously announcing they were leaving the conference for the Atlantic Sun.

This is the first of the moves that will directly impact Missouri State as Belmont is set to become the Valley's 11th member.
