Growing up in the Ozarks, the one thing Zack Stewart always knew was that he wanted to play baseball at Missouri State.
Stewart's father, Mike Stewart, was a member of the 1998 Bears and played alongside the likes of Jason Hart and Matt Cepicky. Stewart heard the stories and he became obsessed. Someday, he too wanted to become a name that would be remembered while wearing the maroon and white.
"Missouri State has always been big to me," Stewart said. "There was really no other choice."
Stewart turned down the opportunity to play at Mizzou and, after a stellar career at Lebanon High School, he set a high price to Major League Baseball teams that were considering selecting him in the 2022 MLB Draft.
