Whenever Beth Cunningham goes into the transfer portal to try and recruit a player to Missouri State, she goes in with a vision for what that player is going to be for her program.
There are a lot of unknowns. In outgoing Kansas senior guard Aniya Thomas, she saw incredible quickness and untapped potential at the point guard position. Needing a veteran leader on a young team, Cunningham went after Thomas and got her starting point guard for her first year as the Lady Bears' head coach.
As far as the vision Cunningham had for Thomas, the outgoing senior blew it out of the water.
