After initially committing to Southern Illinois, the best two-way football player in southwest Missouri tweeted Thursday morning that he's had a change of plans.
West Plains star Connor Lair tweeted that he is staying home and that he has flipped his commitment from playing at Southern Illinois to playing at Missouri State.
Lair, who projects as a linebacker in college, has been one of the most dominant players in the area the last few seasons. He also held a preferred walk-on offer from Mizzou and offers from SEMO, Lindenwood, Northwest Missouri State and Pitt State.
Lair has had 90-plus tackles in back-to-back seasons.
