Two out-of-state girls basketball programs proved their top seedings and prevailed in championship games on Monday in the annual Pink & White Classic.
First, Fort Smith Northside (Ark.) held off West Plains 55-53 for the Lady Bears’ second-consecutive title and fifth in the tournament since 2013. Then, Classen SAS (Okla.) broke out to a 30-9 lead early in the second quarter and cruised past Ozark 70-47 for the title in the White Division.
Classen led 39-17 at halftime and maintained a big advantage through the second half thanks to a potent inside-outside mix of fast-breaks, putbacks and 3-point shots.
