It's not Thanksgiving or even Halloween yet, but the search for a large Christmas tree is on.
Conservation officials have put the call out for a large evergreen to be used on the governor's mansion lawn in Jefferson City.
The Missouri Department of Conservation is asking for a donated tree that's at least 40 feet tall and is an eastern red cedar, Norway spruce or white pine with full branches on all sides while being accessible for large equipment.
"The right tree may either be near the end of its life or may need to be removed for other reasons," MDC stated via news release.
