The annual Earth Day cleanup is slated for April 22 at Lake Springfield, and volunteers are needed.
The James River Basin Partnership will host the annual cleanup from 8 a.m. to noon at Lake Springfield with partners from Springfield-Greene County Parks and Recreation, Bass Pro Shops and Missouri Department of Conservation.
The James River Basin Partnership was formed in 1997 and is an established nonprofit that works to improve and protect local water quality through various projects, programs and education outreach.
This free event is open to anyone who would like to participate with shoreline, lake and river cleanup opportunities, according to the partnership's news release.
