The clock is ticking, and we should know any day now what the future carries for the Missouri Valley Conference.
We know Wichita State is gone, off to the Americn Athletic Conference, and Valley officials have made campus visits to Murray State, Valparaiso, Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Nebraska-Omaha.
We also know Saint Louis and Belmont have no interest in joining the league.
The only thing we're waiting on is the most important part — which schools will receive invites, and which will accept them.
The whirlwind tour taken by Valley officials since Wichita State’s announcement on April 7 has been dizzying at times, but hopefully it hasn’t led to a desperate mindset that will lead to foolish decisions.
