U.S. Baseball announced Tuesday afternoon it was notified by the Greene County Health Department that a player on the Route 66 Stars tested positive for COVID-19.
The league said in a press release that the player has been placed in quarantine and proper precautions are being taken for those who have been traced to having direct contact with the player.
"We are working diligently with the Greene County Health Department and Christian County Health Department," the league said in a release.
The league said the Route 66 Stars has been suspended for the remainder of the season and that players have been advised to receive testing and monitor for symptoms while taking necessary precautions for well-being.
