The Springfield Cardinals are in need of some home cooking.
The team was probably happy to get out of Springdale, Arkansas, after losing four games, including three by a single run, to open the 2019 season, but a fifth loss came in Tulsa on Monday.
The birds were shut down in the Thursday opener by the combination of Connor Greene and Jake Kalish, who allowed just one run on three hits over their nine innings. The only Cardinal run came on a sacrifice fly from outfield prospect Dylan Carlson in the 5-1 loss.
