The most dominant high school baseball program in the area's recent history was eliminated from postseason play on Monday afternoon.
Hollister defeated Aurora, the No. 1 ranked team in Class 4, in the district semifinals 5-1.
Aurora is the two-time defending Class 4 state champions. It entered play Monday's game at Hollister High School with a 21-5 record on the season.
The Houn Dawgs jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning before Hollister responded by plating three runs in the top of the fourth. Sophomore Layton Morgan hit a two-run home run in the top of the fifth to give Hollister a 5-1 lead.
