Two southwest Missouri teams — Webb City and Lamar — were picked No. 1 in their respective classes in the preseason Missouri Media Rankings released on Wednesday.
Lamar, the six-time defending Class 2 State Champion, will start 2017 at the top of the rankings.
Webb City, who had a 42-game winning streak earlier this decade, is ranked No. 1 in Class 4.
As for the Springfield teams, Glendale is ranked No. 8 in Class 5 after finishing 11-1 last season and Kickapoo received votes in the Class 6 poll after finishing last year ranked No.
