The Missouri Valley Conference world is quickly becoming acquainted with the legend of Alize Johnson.
So far, his tale is just about ridiculous numbers and repeated dominant performances in his first season of Division I basketball.
There may come a day when old-timers will tell their grandchildren, “Alize grabbed every single rebound in a single game” or “Missouri State played 3-on-5 just to make it fair for the other team to get a few rebounds.”
We’re a ways from that point, but through 20 games of his first Division I season, Johnson has made a strong case for both Newcomer of the Year and Player of the Year in the Missouri Valley Conference.
