The Day After: No can't-win games left for Bears

Missouri State will not face another team this season the caliber of North Dakota State.

That’s good news.

Even better news is that based on the Bears’ performance against the top-ranked Bison in Saturday’s 27-3 loss, they should be in position to compete in and win any remaining game on the schedule.

Heady stuff for a team that was an uncompetitive 1-10 last season and picked for last in the Missouri Valley Football Conference coming into this season.

The eye test doesn’t lie, though.

Missouri State matched the five-time defending national champions punch for punch for much of the first half.
