Bass Pro Tournament of Champions 2014 all-tournament team member Ben Simmons is expected to be the first player chosen Thursday in the 2016 NBA Draft.
The native Australian played one season at LSU and is expected to be chosen first overall by the Philadelphia 76ers. Prior to his college career, Simmons played three years at Montverde Academy in Montverde, Flordia. Simmons scored 16 points in the championship final of the 2014 Bass Pro Tournament of Champions, and Montverde defeated White Station (Memphis, Tennessee) 73-60.
In 2007, the NBA adopted a rule requiring draftees to be at least one year removed from graduating high school.
