Ruben Tejada isn’t looking back, and he isn’t asking why.
The St. Louis Cardinals shortstop was the victim of some bad fortune in last season’s National League Division Series, when he was playing for the New York Mets and was taken out by the Dodgers’ Chase Utley on a slide at second base.
He suffered a broken right fibula and had to watch as the Mets advanced to the World Series without him.
Then after finding a new place to play when the Cardinals signed him to a free-agent contract in spring training, he suffered a quad injury in the final exhibition game.
