The 115th consecutive win for the Strafford Lady Indians will be remembered forever by the graduating seniors. They sure had to work for it, though.
Hayley Frank scored 20 points in the second half and the Strafford girls overcame a stiff challenge from Lutheran North to win their fourth straight Class 3 state championship, 61-53, at JQH Arena on Friday evening.
Frank splashed a triple from the top of the key with just under four minutes remaining in the contest to put Strafford up 48-43. Moments later, she scored through contact and tallied three points the old-fashioned way to put the Indians ahead 53-45 with under two minutes to play — the largest lead of the game for a team that routinely wins by wide margins.
