Zan Fugitt ended his decorated Nixa wrestling career in resounding fashion.
The University of Oklahoma recruit captured his third consecutive Class 4 state championship on Saturday at Mizzou Arena in Columbia, defeating Lebanon's Canon Roark by fall.
Fugitt, one of the nation's top 132-pound grapplers and four-time state finalist, also became the winningest wrestler in Nixa history (a 184-8 career record) during his weekend's undefeated stretch.
He wasn't the only member of the Eagles to reach the top of the podium.
Nixa's Brennan Carey dispatched Jackson's Tyler Beyatte in the 215-pound championship match.
No area boys teams earned a top-four finish, but several individuals reached the championship rounds of their respective weight classes.
