Magnum Moon, a locally owned horse who competed in the 2018 Kentucky Derby, was euthanized on Friday in New York after a yearlong battle with laminitis.
Jacob West — the horse's racing manager — shared the news in a press release sent to the News-Leader on Friday.
Magnum Moon was owned by Robert and Lawana Low of Springfield. The horse suffered a career-ending "structural injury" during a workout in June 2018.
