When it all came down to it, Ben Silverman knew what he needed to do.
Silverman had captured nearly 30 mini-tour events but had never broken through in a four-day tournament until Sunday, when he won the PGA Web.com Tour's Price Cutter Charity Championship presented by Dr Pepper. He fired a 25-under-par 263, earning a $121,500 payday.
Silverman, from Canada, bested Oklahoman Talor Gooch by one stroke and Chesson Hadley — who led the first two rounds — by two strokes. Caddying for Silverman was Springfield's Terry Frost, who also caddied for last year's champion, Mackenzie Hughes.
