The Show Me Collegiate Baseball League is calling off its season a day after announcing its first positive COVID-19 test, league commissioner and former Missouri State baseball player Aaron Meyer told the News-Leader on Wednesday morning.
Meyer said a second test came back positive. The league worked with the Greene and Christian County health departments and ultimately came to its decision.
"It was a tough decision to make," Meyer said. "It is very unfortunate for our fans, players, coaches and employees."
Meyer said the league plans to return in 2021 with the hopes that the coronavirus pandemic has passed.
