For 20 minutes Wednesday night, the Missouri State Bears gave Wichita State everything they had.
Then in the second half, Wichita State punched back.
The Shockers overcame a less-than-characteristic showing in the first half, scoring the first 11 points of the second half to pull away in claiming a 78-62 victory over the Bears.
“Give credit to Wichita State,” Bears coach Paul Lusk said. "I thought we competed, but they really wore us down.”
Wichita State (11-5 overall, 5-0 Missouri Valley Conference) struggled early on, going 6-for-24 from the floor and 1-for-13 from 3-point range in the first 12 minutes.
