Kickapoo only led Ozark for 30 seconds of the 32 minutes they played Friday night, but it was enough for a 61-59 lead.
Senior guard Isaac Johnson hit a jump shot from the right elbow of the lane with three seconds remaining in regulation to give Kickapoo its first lead of the night since Ozark scored its first basket. Johnson finished the game on a one-man 7-0 scoring run in the final 1:14 to finish off a thrilling comeback.
“I didn’t know (the ball) was coming to me, but I definitely wanted it, that’s for sure,” Johnson said.
