A ticket at Hammons Field in recent days has turned into a two-for-one deal — a Springfield Cardinals game and a one-man home run derby.
Nolan Gorman has been spectacular for the Springfield Cardinals and he's been showing everyone why he's one of the best young prospects in all of baseball.
The first five games in the Cardinals' six-game series last week against the Arkansas Travelers saw Gorman go 9-for-21 with seven home runs, 12 RBI and a pair of walks. He returned to Earth on Sunday when he went 0-for-5, but the point still stands.
Gorman's best performance came on Saturday when he hit a home run in his first three at-bats — all coming in the first four innings.
