Rob Yanders, a former Missouri State basketball player who went on to develop and impact the lives of many star basketball players in southwest Missouri over the last decade, has passed away. He was 44.
Yanders, a Milwaukee native, founded The Basketball Movement and coached the local Yanders Law AAU program. There, he helped develop area stars including Trevon Brazile, Jonathan Dunn, Zach Howell, Issac Haney, Kanon Gipson and, his nephew, Anton Brookshire.
His love for developing young basketball stars followed a 12-year professional basketball career overseas where he won many accolades individually in Great Britain. He won three European championships, two regular season titles, a national cup and a finals MVP.
