Missouri State Lady Bears head coach Kellie Harper has emerged as the leading candidate to replace Holly Warlick as the Tennessee Lady Volunteers head coach, according to Knoxville SportsTalk radio host Jimmy Hyams.
The Tennessee job is currently open after the university decided to part ways with Warlick on March 27. After her firing, connections were immediately made between Harper — a former Lady Volunteers point guard — and the job opening.
MSU Athletics Director Kyle Moats said in a statement on April 1 that Tennessee contacted him saying it had interest in interviewing the Lady Bears head coach, who was coming off an NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 appearance.
