Renovated Ozark stadium hosts first baseball games

For the first time in more than a decade, Ozark hosted a college baseball game Saturday. .

William Jewell and Drury University split a Saturday doubleheader at U.S. Baseball Park, the former home of the independent minor league Ozark Mountain Ducks and for a short time, the Missouri State Bears.

Jewell senior Austin Kretchmar secured the first pitching victory in the new era of the ballpark just off U.S. 65 in the first nine-inning game. Kretchmar pitched all nine innings for the Cardinals (20-11) and scattered seven hits, struck out three, walked one and hit one batter.
