That alone foretold a competitive game on Monday night as Skyline and Mount Vernon met in the opening round of the annual Pink and White Tournament.
It was close for most of the first quarter and early in the second.
Then, fifth-seeded Skyline’s experience, defensive pressure and offensive firepower stepped to the fore in a 64-41 victory in a Pink matchup at Weiser Gym.
