Missouri State President Clif Smart announced Saturday afternoon that Paul Lusk has been fired as the head coach of the men’s basketball team after seven seasons.
“The Board of Governors, Kyle Moats and I have closely monitored the condition of our men’s basketball program these last two years, have had many conversations and have determined a new direction is necessary,” Smart said.
The announcement comes a day after Missouri State’s season-ending loss to Southern Illinois at the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament.
Lusk will receive a $370,000 buyout using funds from private donations for the remaining year on his contract.
