When last Drury University played at home, the Panthers were coming off five delayed games because of COVID-19 issues.
And the rustiness showed in a rough opening-season loss against Missouri S&T.
On Sunday, what showed for much of the game was a runaway Drury offense. And a rousing defense.
The result was a complete 86-59 victory over Maryville, sparked by step-up sophomore Jason Montgomery with 23 points. His early treys helped stake the Panthers to a 16-4 lead. The advantage grew to 44-26 at halftime at O’Reilly Family Event Center and 74-37 midway through the second half.
