Ozark High School announced Tuesday the retirement of its longtime head baseball coach along with his replacement for the 2020-21 school year.
Mike Essick will retire after leading the Tigers to a 465-223 record during his carer to go along with state championships in 2004 and 2008. He also led teams to a third-place finish in 2002 and a fourth-place finish in 2011.
“Coach Essick helped set the standard for baseball in southwest Missouri over the last 26 years,” Ozark High School Athletics and Activities Director Yancey Little said in a release.
