With that, the soccer Bears’ season has come to an end.
The Missouri State men’s soccer Bears fell to the No. 8 Central Florida Knights 2-1 in overtime in the second round of the NCAA tournament.
The Bears scored first — sophomore forward Aadne Bruseth found the back of the net in the third minute after senior forward Matt Bentley forced UCF’s goalkeeper into a turnover.
UCF equalized quickly — Yoni Sorokin scored in the 27th minute to tie things up.
That is when the Michael Creek show started. The senior goalkeeper and Missouri Valley Conference keeper of the year stopped 16 shots in the match, many of them diving or leaping to get to the ball.
