‘Overrated’ is what the student section yelled at Valparaiso’s Alec Peters for the majority of the game, but it was Peters who put the dagger in the Bears’ hearts in the end.
Peters was fouled on a 3-point attempt with 5.6 seconds left in the game. Peters would hit the three foul shots to give Valpo the lead and the game, as junior guard Ronnie Rousseau III missed the game-tying shot with time expiring.
“It wasn’t a foul,” Rousseau III said. “We really have nobody to blame but ourselves, but I don’t think that was a foul.
