They may not be starters, but Kickapoo’s “other guys” play key roles in the Chiefs’ basketball success.
No. 4-ranked Kickapoo showed off its depth advantage in a 68-55 win over rival Glendale Tuesday at Drury University’s O’Reilly Family Event Center. Kickapoo improved to 20-2 with a win that featured some of its bench players.
“We’ve got a lot of talent that comes off the bench,” Kickapoo coach Dick Rippee said. “We got contributions from a lot of guys, and that’s what it takes to get good team wins.”
Kickapoo improved its record in the all-time series with Glendale to 50-46 in what was the 96th meeting between the Springfield schools since Kickapoo opened in 1971.
