You’d be hard-pressed to find a football coach as old school as Bob Price.
The former Glendale High School coach often had his teams throw the ball as much in an entire game as teams these days throw it on a single drive.
He was blunt when asked if he could coach in such a system.
“No, I could not,” Price said Tuesday when he was announced as one member of the five-person induction class for the Springfield Area Sports Hall of Fame.
“We could throw the ball, but we didn’t have to. We wanted to control the ball, and that’s the way we played.
