Missouri State is adding another Mid-American Conference defensive back to its roster.
Northern Illinois defensive standout Dillon Thomas announced Sunday night that he is transferring to Missouri State.
Thomas will use his bonus season of eligibility to play in Springfield. He played high school ball at Park Hill South in Kansas City — where he was an all-area and all-conference performer during his final three seasons of high school.
He was also being recruited by Northwest Missouri State and Washburn after entering his name in the transfer portal.
Thomas played his first four seasons in DeKalb (he redshirted in 2017) as a defensive back before transitioning to a hybrid "rover" position in 2021.
