Missouri State got its long-awaited revenge and continued its hot start to begin the season.
A 35-30 win for the fifth-ranked Bears (2-0) over UT Martin (1-1) avenged its first-round postseason loss from November. The 9,872 home fans in attendance to open Plaster Stadium this season saw excellent play from the Bears' star quarterback and his favorite receiver.
The win came as the Bears had to make up for undisciplined penalties throughout the game and an uncharacteristic off-night for MSU's secondary.
There is plenty to clean up before Bobby Petrino's highly-anticipated return to Fayetteville next week when the Bears play at Arkansas.
