After Southern Illinois beat the Lady Bears right before the buzzer in their previous matchup, Missouri State made sure the game wasn't that close this time.
The No. 17 nationally-ranked Lady Bears (21-3, 11-1) avenged their only Missouri Valley Conference loss with an 88-57 win on Saturday afternoon at JQH Arena over Southern Illinois.
Missouri State jumped out to a 21-point lead at halftime and didn't let the Salukis back in the game from there.
After turning the ball over three times in the early minutes, first-year MSU coach Amaka Agugua-Hamilton opted to bench her starters to go with five girls off the bench just over three minutes into the game with the Lady Bears down two.
