Alex Allen wasn't alive to see his dad lead Northern Iowa on the football field.
His dad, Terry Allen, led the Panthers on the field as a quarterback from 1975-78.
He then worked his way up to taking over as the head coach of Northern Iowa from 1989-96.
Fast forward to 2018, and Alex Allen is starting to follow in his dad's footsteps.
