Thursday night, Courtney Frerichs ran the race of her life.
Friday, she received her U.S. Olympic track and field uniforms and spikes.
Frerichs took second place in the women’s 3,000-meter steeplechase Thursday night at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials in Eugene, Oregon. She ran a lifetime best time of 9:20.92 to secure her spot on the U.S. team bound for Rio De Janeiro, Brazil from Aug. 5 to Aug. 21.
“I accomplished so many goals in that race,” Frerichs said.
Frerichs recently graduated from the University of New Mexico and set an NCAA record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:24.
