Courtney Frerichs had the finish line in sight heading into the final few months of her training before the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
She was confident that she'd be in contention to medal. It's been on her mind since placing 11th in Rio in 2016.
But in recent weeks, the finish line seemed to be getting further and further away.
Frerichs and her Team USA teammates watched as sporting leagues around the globe were either postponed or canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
