NIXA — The Eagles went into Friday night's game hoping to walk away with a share of the Central Ozark Conference. Instead, they walked away with a slice of humble pie.
For the second-straight year, a loss to Carthage (9-0) on the final week of the regular season prevented Nixa from winning a share of the COC.
This year, the Eagles lost 49-14 on their home field — a game that quickly got away from them.
"Everybody needs to be humbled every once in a while," Nixa head coach John Perry said. "Things have been really great.
