NIXA — Eagles head coach John Perry wiped away the condensation building underneath his eyes as fireworks lit up the night sky.
The second-year head coach blamed the humidity, but no one would have blamed him if he admitted to the tears. His Eagles had just pulled off one of the great wins in program history.
"I'm very grateful for our kids," Perry said. "I'm very grateful for how hard they work. I'm super proud of our kids coming to battle every single play as hard as they could I'm super proud."
Nixa (6-1) earned a historic 41-27 win over perennial state power Webb City (4-3) for the first time in school history.
