Nixa football is advancing to the second round of the Class 6 postseason without even playing its opening-round game.
According to multiple reports, Nixa's Friday opponent, Lee's Summit North, won't participate in the postseason following a positive COVID-19 case.
Nixa confirmed on Twitter that it has advanced to the next round.

The Eagles are now scheduled to return to the field next week for the Class 6, District 3 semifinals where they will host either Lee's Summit West or Kickapoo.
