MSU's Aaron Meyer out up to 8 months with torn patellar tendon in right knee

There was no silver lining or surprise good news coming out of the Missouri State baseball program on Wednesday afternoon.

Senior second baseman Aaron Meyer was diagnosed with a torn patellar tendon in his right knee, after a baserunning mishap in the first inning of Tuesday night's victory over Missouri at Hammons Field.

Meyer will have surgery to repair the damage Thursday and is expected to face a recovery period of six to eight months.

Bears coach Keith Guttin spoke at an impromptu media gathering on Wednesday before the news came out, saying he caught up with Meyer and his parents in the Hammons Field parking lot after the Bears’ 5-1 victory over the Tigers.
