CHICAGO — The Lady Bears' magical season has come to an end.
Missouri State, the lowest remaining seed in the NCAA Tournament, was eliminated on Saturday evening in a 55-46 loss to Stanford in the Sweet 16.
The Lady Bears' unexpected run to the Sweet 16 included its first three-game winning streak over AP Top 25 programs — which included a victory in the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament championship win over Drake and their first two NCAA Tournament victories since 2001.
The loss on Saturday is the team's third since starting the season 1-7. The team will only lose one senior in All-MVC First Teamer Danielle Gitzen going into next season.
