Paul Lusk admitted being at a loss for words.
His team’s “disappointing” performance provided Southeast Missouri State — one of the year’s four (previously) winless teams — its first victory under first-year coach Rick Ray.
Five SEMO players scored in double figures and the lowly Redhawks (1-10) stunned Missouri State (4-8) 78-74 on Tuesday night at JQH Arena.
“We didn’t guard,” Lusk said. “We just didn’t guard. (Our) guys gotta learn.”
The Bears led their final non-conference game for a mere 38 seconds at 6-5 — and never again. Put another way: A winless road team led MSU for nearly 38 minutes.
