As Missouri State enters its final year on its contract to play baseball at Hammons Field, the future of the program calling the ballpark home is in question.
MSU Athletic Director Kyle Moats, in an interview with the News-Leader, said although his preference is to stay at Hammons Field, the situation is fluid due to the bankruptcy case of John Q. Hammons' company.
Moats said the Bears will play baseball in Springfield after next season. But if it doesn't work out at Hammons Field, the university will have to explore other options, such as playing at other existing ballparks and even building a new stadium.
