Three of Springfield's high school basketball standouts have been nominated to the 44th annual McDonald's All-American Games teams.
Greenwood's Aminu Mohammed and Kickapoo's Anton Brookshire were among the nominees for the boys' team. Central's Makaiya Brooks has been nominated to the girls' team.
Being named to a McDonald's All-American team is among the highest honors for a high school basketball athlete. The three players are among 700 nominees and a final team roster of 48 players will be named later this month.
This year's McDonald's All-American celebration will be virtual instead of playing in a game due to COVID-19.
