Missouri State formally introduced Beth Cunningham as the Lady Bears' new head coach on Thursday morning.
The MSU Board of Governors unanimously approved the new coach early in the morning after a national search.
Cunningham signed a five-year contract that will run through March 30, 2027. The deal has an average salary of $340,000.
In comparison, Cunningham's contract is more than the initial deal Amaka Agugua-Hamilton signed as a first-time head coach in April 2019 when she signed a five-year deal with a base salary of $240,000. After the 2020-21 season, Agugua-Hamilton's contract was extended through 2025-26 for a deal that was going to average $328,000 annually if she remained head coach.
